The HSM Orion - Sirius series consisted of two broad-gauge steam locomotives of the Patentee type, built for the Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-Maatschappij (HSM).

These locomotives were manufactured by Société du Renard in Brussels. The Orion was commissioned in 1842, followed by the Sirius in 1843. They were the only locomotives the HSM acquired from this Belgian manufacturer. The locomotives operated across HSM's entire broad-gauge network, running from Amsterdam to Haarlem and Leiden. In 1843, the route extended to The Hague, and later in 1847, to Rotterdam.

After the Nederlandsche Rhijnspoorweg-Maatschappij (NRS) converted its tracks from broad gauge to standard gauge between 1854 and 1855, the HSM attempted to acquire several younger broad-gauge locomotives made redundant by the NRS to replace its oldest models. However, these locomotives had already been sold to Amsterdam-based trader B.J. Nijkerk. The HSM eventually negotiated with Nijkerk to exchange 12 locomotives, with an additional payment of 2,000 guilders per locomotive. In 1858, the HSM planned to trade the Orion and Sirius for the NRS locomotives 11 Etna and 20. Due to necessary repairs, the Orion continued service until 1861, while the Sirius remained in operation until 1859.
